Runescape: Making a Skiller?

Hey it’s me again and I’ve decided to make a skiller. Any guides on what I should do?

Glad to see you chose to start again Wise choice. I’ve had many, many skillers – most of which have changed their area of “expertise”. I’ve had 99 WC twice, 70+ mining and smithing, and around 80 crafting. These are all on different accounts – I can never stick to one.

You need to decide on what area you want to train up high – which is your favourite? To be honest, there are only 3 main areas; mining/smithing, fishing/cooking, woodcutting/firemaking. Out of these, fishing/cooking isn’t a wise choice unless you’re going to be a member – since it’s too hard to train in F2P.

For WCing, to west of Varrock just outside the gate, and start cutting trees. This is the best place to start – close to the G.E so you can sell your logs to buy the rune axe. I’d keep doing normal trees to 20, then oaks and normal trees to 41. At 41, head over to Draynor with your rune axe, and keep cutting willows to 70. From 70 yews will be easier and at an acceptable rate, if you cut at Edgeville or east of the G.E. Just a note about WCing – if you’re going to become a member, F2P places to cut are still the best, a D axe is worth it, and mages are slow until 95+.

For mining/smithing I’d start by getting 15 mining and doing the knights sword quest. From this work out how many bronze items you need to make for 30 smithing. Mine the appropriate ores, make the bars and items. From 30 smithing, make steel bars. Make some money to buy the ores, or mine them yourself (I wouldn’t mine coal though). A note about smithing – Firstly, NEVER smelt iron unless you’re a member with the RoF. Secondly, if you’re a member with 35+ smithing, make cannonballs (after the quest). You’re able to buy supplies, make the bars/c’balls and sell them for a profit.

I won’t bother going through fishing because a) I don’t know the best method to train this and b) it’s not a feasible option to a F2P player.
