Runescape Private Server Illegal?

I don’t want to hack people, I would just like my own server for me an my friends to play in, for like fishing, mining,wood cutting,monster killing, just so there’s no competition. I saw tons of videos about how to make one, but also read that it’s illegal to make one. So is it?

Basically yes, it is illegal. Runescape is a copywrited game. So, a private server is a cheap copy of the real thing… I know private servers get taken down, I think Jagex threatens to sue or something similar. Another reason I don’t recommend playing them is that because they tend to get taken down, your stats/account on there will disappear (all your work gone, nothing to show on the real game).
