How does the 26k Trick in runescape work? and is it legal?

I heard of a way to get massive money by hanging out in a hot spot pvp world and getting a high drop potential, then kill someone that is risking money. Is that how it works? And is it legal? Please fill me in on the whole story, and be honest and detailed.

Players get good drops by having a high drop potential. Drop potential increases by spending time outside of safe zones (it increases faster in “hot zones”) and by risking at least 75k of items (or 25k in a non members world). I believe the trick you are talking about is the air strike trick. In this, two players cooperating with each other would risk 25k of items and kill each other by air striking. A battle done that way would obviously take a long time to fight and give players a long period to increase their drop potential as they fight. It is legal to player-kill this way because it is not abusing a glitch; it is instead taking advantage of the system.
